If there is one thing I wish I had learned early in life it would be how to save and mange my money better.

I think we all live under an illusion that money is easy to come by, keep, find and spend and that there are no consequences to our actions.

Lots of us grew up not knowing anything about finances. We never thought about it nor cared. Growing up as a 70’s child , all i cared about was a quarter which was enough to buy you a small bag of penny candy. I lived in the moment. I didn’t care about the future, which back then went as far ahead as no more than the next day or night.

As I got older and got a job, it meant i had money for the bus or the babysitter, but i still didn’t connect the dots to doing better or letting my money grow. I assumed that was for rich people. Doctors, lawyers and such. People with money to spare. Something I did not have. I was led to believe I did not have a need to save my money . Someone else wold take care of it, but I didn’t know who the somebody else was. Or even worse, where they were. Now here I am in my later years trying to play catch up .
